Jacob Iacullo, 15 year old resident of East Brunswick, has been selected for the 2019 Monmouth Council Eagle Service Project of the Year Award. This award recognizes select Eagle Scout candidates for Eagle Scout service projects that are original and have a long lasting impact on the community.
Jacob, along with fellow scouts & community members, constructed two artificial bee nesting habitats or “bee hotels” as part of his Eagle Scout service project. The long term goal of a bee hotel is to increase the beneficial bee population in the area. They are each located in East Brunswick Community Garden and Great Oak Park respectively. Jacob worked with The Friends of the East Brunswick Environmental Commission to develop his Eagle Scout service project.
Jacob is the 84th member of Troop 223 to earn the highest honor of scouting, the rank of Eagle Scout.
